A Lumber Yard Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing lumber and building materials in a safe and efficient manner. This position supports daily warehouse and yard operations, assists customers with material loading, and helps maintain inventory accuracy and a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and unload lumber, building materials, and related products.
- Organize and stock inventory in designated warehouse and yard locations.
- Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
- Load and unload materials manually and with equipment such as forklifts.
- Assist customers by locating products and loading purchases safely.
- Perform inventory counts and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and lumber yard.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification may be required).
- Inspect materials for damage and report quality concerns.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, lumber yard, construction, or material handling experience preferred but not required

Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification.
- Basic math and inventory skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:

Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
