Clinical & Administrative Dental Assistant
Peak Family Dentistry is seeking a friendly, organized, and team-oriented Clinical & Administrative Dental Assistant to join our growing practice.
This unique role combines traditional chairside dental assisting with front office support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients while also helping ensure the practice runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Position Summary
The Clinical & Administrative Dental Assistant will split time between assisting providers during patient treatment and supporting the front office team with scheduling, patient communication, insurance coordination, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including restorative, surgical, and hygiene-related treatment
- Take dental radiographs and intraoral images as permitted by state regulations
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral health, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate clinical records and charting
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies
Administrative Duties
- Greet patients and provide outstanding customer service
- Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Assist with insurance verification and benefit review
- Collect payments and process financial transactions
- Support treatment plan presentation and patient follow-up
- Help maintain accurate patient records and correspondence
- Assist the Front Office Manager with daily administrative tasks and office operations
Qualifications
- Dental assisting experience required
- Current certifications required by state regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable learning both clinical and administrative systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with dental practice management software preferred
