Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics & Operations Clerk to join our team. This role blends outbound supply chain support with day-to-day warehouse operations administration. You will serve as a key resource across both logistics’ functions and operations support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly across departments, and takes ownership of issues from start to resolution.
Responsibilities
- Review and audit freight invoices for accuracy, verifying rates, accessorial charges, and service levels against contracted agreements. Identify discrepancies and escalate or correct as needed.
- Initiate, document, and manage carrier disputes for overcharges, service failures, and damaged or lost freight. Track disputes through resolution and maintain accurate records to support recovery efforts and trend analysis.
- Monitor shipments in transit across all modes (LTL, TL, parcel) to ensure on-time delivery. Proactively communicate status updates escalate delays or exceptions with urgency to minimize service disruptions.
- Coordinate and process return-to-origin shipments, ensuring proper documentation, timely carrier pickup, and accurate system updates. Work cross-functionally with customer service and warehouse teams to resolve RTO situations efficiently
- Manage logistics for trade show shipments including advance warehouse deliveries, show-site deliveries, and return freight. Coordinate closely with the events team to meet strict deadlines and ensure all materials arrive on time and in good condition.
- Provide coverage for the Logistics Coordinator during absences, including carrier scheduling, routing guide compliance, load tendering, and vendor communication. Maintain a working knowledge of all coordinator responsibilities to ensure seamless continuity of operations.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and data within TMS system. Assist with carrier performance reporting, detention and accessorial charge reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support onboarding of new carriers or vendors as directed.
- Assist with processing inbound receipts. Ensure accurate and timely entry into the WMS or ERP system and flag discrepancies to the operations supervisor.
- Participate in cycle counts, reconcile count variances, and assist with root cause investigation for inventory discrepancies. Help maintain location integrity and support periodic physical inventory events.
- Serve as an administrative point of contact for inbound vendor deliveries. Maintain PO status visibility for the operations and purchasing teams.
- Maintain records for operational compliance and support the operations team in preparing for internal and external audits.
- Manage the dock check-in process for inbound carriers and drivers, verifying paperwork, assigning doors, issuing BOLs, and maintaining a clean gate log.
- Compile and distribute operations reports. Assist in maintaining dashboards or scorecards used by operations leadership.
- Provide broad administrative support to the warehouse operations team. Serve as a resource for floor supervisors needing clerical assistance during peak periods.
Requirements
- 1 - 3 years of experience in logistics, freight, supply chain, or warehouse operations
- Effective communicator with the ability to work across teams including warehouse, sales, and customer service.
- Comfortable working with carrier portals, TMS/WMS platforms, and Microsoft Office — particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of LTL, TL, and parcel shipping modes is a plus.
- Familiarity with inbound receiving processes, purchase order management, or inventory control is a plus.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
