Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood growth in areas such as literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical development
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among toddlers
- Manage daily classroom routines, including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions with patience and professionalism
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Apply behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety
- Incorporate curriculum development strategies aligned with early childhood education standards such as Montessori or other pedagogical approaches
- Maintain accurate records of children's activities, assessments, and developmental progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan special activities that enhance learning experiences and promote classroom harmony
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and early intervention strategies
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster positive behavior and engagement
- Experience in curriculum development, literacy education, and classroom instruction tailored for toddlers
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or childhood development are a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare best practices
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical education, math concepts, and sensory activities
- Experience working within private school or Montessori environments is advantageous
- Passion for early childhood education combined with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
