Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents
- Maintain and update client files using document management systems
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, including contracts, affidavits, and correspondence
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in the immigration process
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Transcribe dictations and prepare written summaries of meetings or hearings
- Perform general clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Proficient in using document management systems and other legal software
- Familiarity with immigration laws, regulations, and procedures is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional phone etiquette
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information
