Position Summary: The Sterile Pharmacy Technician supports prescription processing and fulfillment activities for sterile compounded medications, including injectable therapies. This role is responsible for accurate data entry, order preparation, and packaging to ensure timely and compliant processing of prescriptions. The Sterile Pharmacy Technician supports safe handling and preparation of sterile products within a regulated pharmacy environment.
Essential Functions:
· Enters prescription data accurately into the pharmacy management system.
· Prepares labels, organizes documentation, and stages prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
· Assists in the fulfillment and packaging of sterile compounded medications, including injectable products.
· Supports order tracking and coordination to ensure timely processing and delivery.
· Assists with inventory restocking and organization of supplies to support workflow efficiency.
· Maintains clean, organized workstations in compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards.
· Collaborates with pharmacists and technicians to complete daily production and fulfillment targets.
· Ensures all tasks are performed in alignment with established workflows, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
· Supports production metrics to maintain expected efficiency and performance standards.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Active Texas Pharmacy Technician License required; PTCB certification preferred.
· Experience in pharmacy operations, sterile compounding, or fulfillment environments preferred.
· Familiarity with USP <797> and <800> standards preferred.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures and maintain accuracy.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
· Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office applications.
· Ability to manage time effectively and meet production and workflow deadlines.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
