Summary:
Operates an off-road water truck on active construction or job sites to perform dust suppression,
compaction support, soil stabilization, and site watering operations. Responsible for the safe and
efficient operation of water truck equipment in accordance with project specifications and safety
standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate off-road water truck to perform dust control, compaction watering, and soil
stabilization on active job sites
- Monitor water tank levels and coordinate refilling with site supervisor or water source as
needed
- Inspect and perform pre/post-trip checks on water truck equipment including pump,
hoses, spray bars, tank, tires, lights, and brakes
- Maintain radio or telephone contact with site supervisor to receive watering instructions
and respond to site needs
- Safely maneuver water truck on uneven, unpaved, or confined job site terrain
- Adjust spray bar settings and water flow rates to meet site-specific dust suppression or
compaction requirements
- Complete daily equipment logs and water usage records as required by project or
regulatory requirements

Basic Functional Job Requirements:
- Must practice good safety habits and follow all site-specific safety protocols, including
traffic control and personal protective equipment requirements
- Follow instructions and meet set standards
- Judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards
- Hours may be variable
- Solely responsible for the safe operation and condition of the water truck during shift
- Must be able to operate spray bar controls, valves, and pump systems; familiarity with
water truck equipment strongly preferred
- May be required to work at night
- Required to drive for extended periods
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent educational attainments, and one year related
experience.
Physical Work Environment:
- Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
- May be exposed to/required to handle hazardous material such as diesel fuel and similar
petroleum products with PPE provided to minimize exposure
- May be required to work at night
- May be exposed to extreme heat and cold environments on a limited basis
