Hotel Hugo is a boutique luxury hotel in SoHo’s Hudson Square neighborhood, known for its elevated hospitality, design-driven spaces, and dynamic dining experiences. The property features three distinct food and beverage venues: Felix Café (Felix Roasting Co.), Azul Rooftop, and Bar Hugo Rooftop.
Position Summary
The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and financial performance of all food and beverage operations at Hotel Hugo. This role oversees multiple concepts and is critical in driving guest satisfaction, team performance, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide visionary leadership across all F&B outlets, ensuring each concept maintains a distinct identity while aligning with overall brand standards
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance revenue, guest experience, and market positioning
- Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and management teams across all venues
Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations for Felix Café, Azul Rooftop, and Bar Hugo
- Ensure seamless service standards across casual dining, high-energy rooftop nightlife, and upscale lounge environments
- Maintain quality control for food, beverage, ambiance, and service consistency
- Optimize seasonal transitions, particularly for the operational shift between indoor Bar Hugo and seasonal Azul Rooftop
Financial Performance
- Manage P&L across all outlets; drive profitability through cost control, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization
- Oversee labor, inventory, and procurement to align with budget targets
- Maximize revenue opportunities across dining, nightlife, and private events
Guest Experience
- Ensure exceptional service standards and memorable guest experiences across all concepts
- Oversee service design reflective of each venue’s identity—from daytime café service to late-night rooftop experiences
- Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvements
Programming & Revenue Growth
- Collaborate with marketing to activate events, seasonal programming, and nightlife experiences
- Drive rooftop activation strategies (e.g., sunset programming, DJ events, private events, branded experiences)
- Expand catering and private event business across all spaces
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with NYC health, safety, and liquor regulations
- Maintain all brand, service, and operational SOPs
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive F&B leadership experience in hotels, restaurants, or nightlife-driven environments
- Proven success managing multi-outlet operations (restaurant + bar + nightlife strongly preferred)
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing high-revenue venues
- Experience with rooftop, lifestyle, or experiential hospitality concepts highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams
- Deep understanding of NYC dining and nightlife landscape
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
