Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan and optimize delivery routes for efficiency, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure proper handling of products
- Engage with customers courteously, addressing questions about deliveries, pricing, or product details with clear communication skills
- Upsell additional items or services where appropriate to enhance sales opportunities and customer experience
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for accountability
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly to ensure reliable operation
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record and knowledge of route driving techniques
- Strong math skills for calculating pricing, measurements, and quantities accurately
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries and prioritize tasks effectively
- Sales aptitude with a knack for upselling products or services naturally during interactions
- Familiarity with merchandising practices to ensure product presentation meets company standards
- Background in military service is a plus, demonstrating discipline, reliability, and strategic thinking
