In this vital role, you will support the front-of-house service team by maintaining a clean and organized dining environment, ensuring dishes and kitchen tools are sanitized and ready for use, and assisting with food preparation and service as needed. Duties
- Clear and reset tables efficiently to maintain a smooth flow of service during busy hours
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using proper dishwashing techniques in compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as ingredient setup, portioning, or basic cooking under supervision
- Support the kitchen team by handling manual tasks like heavy lifting of supplies and operating kitchen equipment safely
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen and dining areas in accordance with sanitation standards and kitchen health and safety regulations
- Ensure proper food handling practices are followed to uphold food safety management standards
- Buse tables promptly after guests leave to prepare for incoming diners, ensuring a welcoming environment
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a restaurant setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of operating kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization across all work areas
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting fellow staff members
