Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain greenhouse environments by monitoring temperature, humidity, light levels, and irrigation systems to promote healthy plant development.
- Plant, transplant, prune, and harvest a variety of crops according to established schedules and quality standards.
- Implement integrated pest management practices to prevent and control pests and diseases, ensuring healthy plants without the use of harmful chemicals.
- Record detailed data on plant growth stages, environmental conditions, and crop yields to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in the propagation of plants through seed sowing, cuttings, or other methods to expand production capacity.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse to ensure safety standards are met and operations run smoothly.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to plant health or environmental controls promptly.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a greenhouse or controlled-environment agriculture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Knowledge of horticultural practices including planting techniques, pest management, and crop maintenance.
- Ability to operate greenhouse equipment such as irrigation systems, climate controls, and basic hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills for tracking plant progress and environmental data.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varying indoor conditions. Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
