Job Summary
The New TownePlace Suites by Marriott Romeoville is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team in delivering exceptional cleanliness and sanitation standards across our hotel property. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols, and foster a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, and promote a safe, hospitable atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and special cleaning projects
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality standards
- Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals; order replacements as needed while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and hotel policies
- Enforce safety protocols related to chemical handling, heavy lifting, manual handling, and industrial cleaning procedures
- Address guest requests or concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience; collaborate with other departments to resolve issues efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum two years' prior experience as a Housekeeper Manager preferred. Prior relative franchise experience a plus. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, requirements, and use of equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Desire and ability to work within a diverse staff. Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques, chemical agent handling, sanitation practices, and janitorial equipment operation
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety data sheets (SDS) for chemical products
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to team leadership and problem-solving
- Experience with industrial cleaning methods and hospital-grade sanitation standards preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
