What You'll Do
As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll help ensure the right materials arrive at the right time so our production team can keep building high-quality aerospace components.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with purchase orders for raw materials, hardware, and outside processing
- Following up with suppliers on delivery dates and expediting orders when needed
- Supporting receiving by verifying incoming materials for accuracy, quantity, and condition
- Coordinating the movement of materials between Receiving, Inspection, and Production
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records in our ERP system (M1)
- Communicating with suppliers regarding order confirmations, documentation, and general inquiries
- Helping resolve material shortages, shipping discrepancies, and damaged shipments
- Supporting inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material organization
- Verifying required certifications and documentation meet aerospace quality standards
- Working closely with Purchasing, Quality, Receiving, and Production to keep operations running smoothly
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and ready to build a career.
Preferred qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or coursework in Business or Supply Chain is a plus)
- 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related environment
- Basic understanding of purchasing, inventory, or supply chain processes is helpful
- Experience with ERP systems such as M1 is a plus, but we'll train the right candidate
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, email, and basic computer applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read purchase orders and material documentation
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
