Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history reviews, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on accurate dental diagnosis and patient needs.
- Deliver a wide range of general dentistry procedures such as dental cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, and prosthodontics.
- Conduct specialized treatments including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, dental implants, oral surgery, and endodontics when applicable.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Communicate clearly with patients about diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and post-treatment care to foster trust and understanding.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws while managing sensitive medical records.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver seamless patient care using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and procedures by participating in ongoing education and training.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a General Dentist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging interpretation, and infection control standards.
- Hands-on experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), orthodontics (braces or aligners), and oral surgery procedures.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is preferred but not required.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and empathetically.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare requirements related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
