Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on seasonal ingredients or customer feedback.
- Follow food safety protocols rigorously, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Support food preparation activities such as slicing, dicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout the shift to adhere to safety standards in production.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively and supporting fellow culinary team members.
Skills
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cooking, catering, or dietary departments.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly.
- Knowledge of dietary aide practices and dietary department experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Excellent knife skills, including slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
- Experience with food handling regulations, food service operations, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
Must be available Friday-Tuesday. Shifts start at 2PM.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
