Meyer Contracting is a multifaceted operation that includes: General Contracting, Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition and Foundations operations. Currently, we are looking for a highly organized, dynamic, and energetic Safety Engineer to join our team of Industry Professionals.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Conducts accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
- Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
- Conduct site specific safety orientation.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- Assists, plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education in Safety and Health preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Detailed and organized
- Excellent computer, communication and training skills
- Overnight travel will be required 30-50% during the construction season
- Must have an acceptable driver’s license and be able to pass a background check
- OSHA10 and OSHA30 (preferred)
- Safety experience in heavy civil construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and technique preferred.

This position offers a salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 based on experience.
