Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and mixers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals and specials
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all food production
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by ensuring timely meal preparation and plating
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal presentation standards
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork in a fast-paced setting
- Catering experience or menu planning knowledge is advantageous but not required
