As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you will:
● Performing phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
● Offer ideas on how to improve the client and patient experience
● Assist with monitoring sedated/anesthetized patients
● Triage cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature
heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
● Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of
patients.
● Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not
limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
● Properly calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and
duration.
● Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
● Be able to conduct oneself in a professional manner
● Accurately record controlled drugs
● Help induce and monitor patients under anesthesia
● Have a knowledge of common veterinary drugs, their uses, side effects and dosages
● Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Job Type: Full Time
Expected hours: 32-40 hours per week.
Pay: $17-$24 per hour based on experience
