As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Lead Generator Service Technician to join our service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled generator technician with advanced troubleshooting capabilities and experience servicing a wide variety of generator manufacturers and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working on residential, commercial, and industrial generator applications and possess liquid-cooled generator certifications.

Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience and certifications)

Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting on standby generators and related equipment
- Service and diagnose residential, commercial, and industrial generator systems
- Perform advanced electrical and engine troubleshooting to identify root causes and complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct warranty repairs and respond to emergency service calls as needed
- Inspect and test electrical components, wiring, controls, transfer switches, and generator systems
- Utilize testing devices and diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair and maintain generators from multiple manufacturers, including liquid-cooled and air-cooled systems
- Educate customers regarding proper operation, maintenance, and recommended repairs
- Maintain accurate service records and required documentation
- Transport tools, parts, and equipment using a company vehicle
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company standards
- Support and mentor junior technicians when needed
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of generator service, maintenance, and diagnostic experience
- Current liquid-cooled generator certifications required
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing generator systems across multiple manufacturers (Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Caterpillar, MTU, or similar)
- Experience servicing residential, commercial, and industrial power generation equipment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, transfer switches, controls, and gas or diesel engines
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused work ethic
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools, meters, and testing equipment
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift 70+ pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently while contributing to the success of the team
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Factory certifications from major generator manufacturers
- Experience with generator controls, ATS systems, and remote monitoring platforms
- Experience leading or mentoring technicians
- CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus
