What We're Looking For
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential with authorization to serve Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students
- Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school-based settings
- Knowledge of language acquisition, auditory access, and communication modalities, including spoken language, American Sign Language (ASL), and total communication
- Proficiency in IEP development, case management, and educational assessments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, interpreters, audiologists, and general education staff
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Passion for creating inclusive learning environments where every student can succeed

What You'll Be Doing
- Provide specialized instruction and educational support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a variety of educational settings
- Conduct educational assessments and contribute to comprehensive evaluation reports
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals that support language, communication, academic achievement, and self-advocacy
- Collaborate with families, classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, interpreters, and other related service providers
- Support classroom accommodations and access to instruction through assistive listening technology and communication supports
- Monitor student progress through ongoing data collection and progress reporting
- Consult with school teams to promote accessible, inclusive educational practices that support student success
