Steel Specialty Inc. is seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Steel Fabricator to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for reading shop drawings, laying out materials, fitting, and fabricating a wide variety of miscellaneous steel products while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
Essential Responsibilities:

Read and interpret structural and miscellaneous steel shop drawings.

Layout, fit, and fabricate miscellaneous steel assemblies.

Fabricate stairs, rails, ladders, roof frames, dumpster gates, and other miscellaneous steel products.

Perform fit-up prior to welding.

Verify dimensions and maintain quality throughout fabrication.

Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Work safely while maintaining a clean work area.

Coordinate with supervisors and other shop personnel to meet production schedules.

Identify drawing discrepancies and communicate issues before fabrication.

Assist with loading, unloading, or moving fabricated materials as needed.
Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of miscellaneous steel fabrication experience.

Ability to read fabrication drawings.

Experience fabricating stairs, rails, ladders, and custom steel products.

Proficient using tape measures, squares, levels, and layout tools.

Ability to safely operate standard fabrication equipment.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently.
-
Welding experience (FCAW, GMAW, or SMAW).

Experience in an AISC-certified fabrication shop.

Forklift or overhead crane experience.
