American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license, 2+ years of ER experience, and combined Adult/Pediatric trauma care in a Level II Trauma Center.

General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric patient population
-
Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified Facility, and Stroke Certified Facility
-
Day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts with alternating start times (7am, 10am, 12pm)
-
Every other weekend required or more depending on unit needs (Sunday not considered a weekend)

Possible floating required based on facility needs

Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required
-
Active CA RN license required
-
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, MAB (or CPI), NIHSS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required

Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
-
Pediatric Emergency Department experience preferred
-
Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
-
Experience with continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
-
Experience managing CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
-
Skilled in chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, and care of ventilated patients
-
Experience with gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and ortho-trauma including splint application
-
Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and psychiatric holds
-
Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
-
AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
-
Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
-
Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Care for patients experiencing near drowning, poison ingestion, sickle cell crisis, and skin disorders
-
Identify and report signs of abuse or neglect
-
Manage violent or acute behavioral health patients as needed
-
RTO must be submitted upfront with initial candidacy

Travel pairs are not accepted for this position

Candidates who cancel or are canceled after accepting will be marked as Do Not Return (DNR) and must be fully committed

Former permanent employees of the facility must be separated for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
