Bar Server — Oliver's, Mount Tremper NY
Oliver's is looking for an experienced Bar Server who's as comfortable talking through our wine list as they are running food to a full room.
We're a tavern at heart — from-scratch kitchen, a tightly curated beer and wine list, and a bar program built on well-made classics. Service here is personal: regulars expect to be recognized, and first-timers should leave feeling like regulars. We're looking for someone who brings genuine hospitality and real product knowledge to the floor, not just speed.
What you'll do
- Guide guests through our food, wine, and cocktail menus with real knowledge — not a script
- Take orders accurately and run food and drinks with care and good timing
- Keep the bar and service areas clean, organized, and guest-ready
- Handle payments accurately and manage seating flow during busy nights
- Jump in wherever needed — bussing, restocking, supporting the kitchen — to keep service seamless
- Build genuine rapport with guests and handle any hiccups with professionalism
What we're looking for
- Experience serving in a busy restaurant or bar, ideally somewhere food and drink both matter
- Solid beverage knowledge — wine, beer, "classic w/a twist" cocktails — and comfort recommending pairings
- Reliable, organized, and calm under pressure during high-volume shifts
- Basic comfort with POS systems and handling cash/credit transactions
- A team-first attitude — our crew is small, so everyone pitches in
