ABOUT THE ROLE
Golden Coast Construction & Restoration is a fire and property restoration contractor serving Northern California homeowners. When a family loses their home to fire, we're the team they call — and our First Responder Consultants are the first people on the ground and the first face that family sees from Golden Coast.
We're hiring a First Responder Consultant to serve our Stockton and Modesto territory. This is a fast-moving, people-first field role built for someone who thrives under pressure, leads with empathy, and can build trust quickly in high-stress environments. You will be the first point of contact at every loss scene — not to sell, but to show up, assess the situation, and give homeowners confidence that there is a clear path forward.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Respond — Be First on Scene
- Respond to fire and property-loss notifications with an on-scene arrival target of 45 minutes (acceptable window: 30–120 minutes based on real-time drive time)
- Complete a rapid assessment from your vehicle before exiting — score the loss and confirm resource needs before making contact
- Coordinate with your paired Lead Loss Consultant immediately upon arrival
Connect — Lead with Empathy
- Make first contact with the homeowner with calm, confidence, and genuine care — they are in crisis, and you are the first voice of stability
- Listen first. Understand their immediate concerns, fears, and needs before talking about next steps
- Assist with immediate emergency needs: safety, temporary shelter coordination, board-up, and access to resources
- Build trust fast — your goal is for the homeowner to feel heard, safe, and hopeful within the first conversation
Build Urgency — Create the Path Forward
- Communicate that there is a clear path forward and that waiting carries a cost — without making promises about restoration specifics
- Hold communication discipline: scope, timeline, and insurance questions are answered at the Second Day Appointment by the Lead Loss Consultant, not in the field
- Secure the Second Day Appointment, with all decision-makers present, within 24–48 hours of initial contact
Attend the Second Day Appointment
- Attend alongside the Lead Loss Consultant and introduce them to the homeowner in person
- The handoff is complete once that in-person introduction and appointment are finished — not before
Document & Communicate
- Complete loss documentation and photos on your mobile device immediately after scene contact
- Confirm and communicate property-security information to the homeowner — board-up status, lockbox location, and access instructions
- Keep your Lead Loss Consultant informed at every stage
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
The First Responder Consultant role is not a sales role in the traditional sense. You are not closing deals, quoting repair scope, or walking homeowners through the restoration or insurance process. The strength of this role is being able to arrive first on scene, building trust, staying calm under pressure and the discipline to build trust and urgency.
