We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team at our Cleveland, TN office as a bookkeeper. The ideal candidate for this role would be a professional self-starter who is highly motivated to learn and grow in accounting. This individual should be well organized and comfortable dealing with client’s financial data. He or She will be responsible for a variety of bookkeeping clients, including after-the-fact posting to full-charge bookkeeping services. They should be excellent at recording data and have an ability to produce clear financial reports. Additionally, they should be comfortable communicating with clients on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
Track expenses, payroll taxes, cash flow, receipts, and other financial dealings of our client’s company
Provide regular financial reports (monthly and yearly)
Ensure timely processing of payroll and tax deposits
Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner
Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
Prepare financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Preparation of payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, business tax licenses, tangible property reports, and Forms W-2 and 1099
Manage an extensive client portfolio
Requirements
Strong accounting skills including financial statement preparation, maintaining cash and accrual basis general ledgers
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities highly desired
Strong problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills
Self-motivated, driven individual that can work independently but is also a team player
Public accounting experience a plus, familiarity with GAAP
Familiarity with the MS Office Professional suite, particularly Excel, including complex formulas and calculations
Qualifications
QuickBooks: 1 year (Preferred)
Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Preferred)
Work experience in a related field: 1 year (Required)
