Summary
Accountant responsible for booking monthly closing entries, issuing customer invoices in accordance with contracts, producing weekly/monthly reporting, and any accounting related duties as needed. Maintains all internal controls in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledgeable of all appropriate laws, regulations and specific procedures for processing transactions. This position requires frequent contact and interaction with customers and WCS personnel. This position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Creation of assigned month-end closing journal entries
- Thorough understanding of journal entries and debits/credits
- Month-end balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
- Preparing customer invoices in accordance with contracts
- Actively engage with business development and operations personnel to assure timely and accurate customer invoices
- Develop and implement working knowledge and understanding of WCS products, services and operations to support financial duties
- Work as needed with other accountants and departments on assigned duties
- Apply customer payments to outstanding invoices
- Produce bi-monthly AR aging report complete with collection status
- Pursue collection of past due accounts
- Preparation/distribution of weekly revenue report to members of management
- Creation of new customers in ERP system
- Working knowledge of operational ERP system with ability to integrate into accounting ERP system
- Perform any ad hoc projects as needed by corporate controller or other members of management
- Work cohesively and collaboratively with other team members as needed to complete essential duties and responsibilities and any other assigned ad hoc projects

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferably in accounting from four-year college and at least four years related work experience
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the company.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Experience using an accounting software (Microsoft Navision a plus), intermediate knowledge of the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook
