About MCDD
MCDD is a nonprofit organization that has proudly served our community for decades. We provide a day learning program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on practical life skills, communication, social development, recreation, community involvement, and personal growth.

What You'll Do
As a Life Skills Instructor, you'll work directly with adults with disabilities in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Teaching daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, budgeting, and organization, as well as basic academic skills and social skills development
- Planning engaging classroom activities and individualized lessons that incorporate academics and social skill building
- Encouraging communication, social skills, independence, and academic growth
- Supervising community outings and recreational activities
- Helping students participate in arts, crafts, games, exercise, vocational activities, and academic learning opportunities
- Monitoring student progress and celebrating achievements in both academic and social development
- Working closely with families, guardians, and coworkers to support each student's academic, social, and personal goals
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom
- Assisting with special events including Camp Goodtimes, Mini Olympics, holiday celebrations, fundraisers, and community activities
Personal Care Responsibilities
Our students have a variety of support needs. This position includes assisting some individuals with personal care, including restroom assistance and hygiene support when needed. Compassion, dignity, and respect are essential in providing this care.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, education, healthcare, childcare, direct support, or human services is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable standing and moving throughout the day
- Able to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs
Schedule
Monday through Friday
Enjoy a predictable daytime schedule, with rare evening or weekend hours required for special events.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $20–$25 per hour (based on experience)
