We are seeking a motivated Banquet Houseperson who embodies these principles and is committed to excellence in all aspects of event support.
Job Summary:
Responsible for helping achieve ongoing guest satisfaction through the setting and teardown of events and basic AV equipment, upkeep and cleanliness of guest rooms, banquet rooms and public areas. They are responsible for maintaining all banquet, convention and food service areas and ensuring they are cleaned and organized. After every event, the Banquet Houseman will ensure cleanup of all areas used for the event, including vacuuming, mopping floors and completing daily/monthly checklist tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Set-up and tear-down rooms based on Event Manager’s floorplan. This includes but is not limited to moving/removing walls, tables, chairs, and other furniture
· Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean before and after set-up and teardown. Follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules as assigned
· Organize and maintain all storage areas
· Set-up and break-down basic AV equipment, including but not limited to speakers, screens, and projectors. Ensure the AV equipment remains organized on each designated AV cart
· Back of house maintenance during events including dishes, cleaning projects, and general maintenance
Other Responsibilities:
· Approach all guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
· Practice safety standards at all times including constant awareness of safety hazards. Report these to supervisor.
· Work cooperatively with Banquet Team to make sure all items are cleaned in a timely manner
· Work with General Manager of Weddings & Special Events, Event Coordinators and Banquet Captains on specific event details
· Assist others as needed
· Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
· Adhere to dress code policy
· Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Housekeeping experience in event set-up preferred
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to tolerate pressure and work calmly, independently, and efficiently
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
· Must be self-motivated and organized
· Ability to take direction
Physical Requirements:
· Standing and walking the entire shift
· Ability to reach, bend, and stoop
· Ability to push/pull 50 pounds
· Ability to climb stairs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
