Salas Plastic Surgery & Medspa is looking for highly motivated, talented, and energetic Surgical Medical Assistant to join our amazing team! We are a single surgeon boutique plastic surgery practice offering all surgical and non-invasive treatments. Our office considers each member of our team like family and encourages work-life balance. We are a small, close knit team and strive to avoid frequent turnover of staff. We support internal and financial growth for all employees within our company.
This position's role primarily entails chaperoning consults with the surgeon, pre-oping surgical patient's charts, ensuring medical clearances are complete prior to procedures, seeing patients post operatively, changing dressings, obtaining pre and post op photos, removing sutures and drains as needed, fit patients for post operative garments and being able to explain in detail the procedure the surgeon is recommending. This position is office clinic based, the OR is in another location therefore days and hours required to work can be discussed. This is a cash based practice, we do not accept insurance and provide all aesthetic/cosmetic surgery. Other duties may include:
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care and support in a cosmetic medical setting
- Perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations of the practice
-inventory supply rooms
- Prepare patients for consults and procedures
- Take and record patients weight and garment measurements
-Assist in collecting, preparing and sending laboratory specimens for testing
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care including suture and drain removal as needed
- Provide patient education on medications, surgeries, procedures, and general health information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- obtain pre and post procedure photos
-assist in pre and post operative documentation
```Qualifications```
- Proficient in verbal and written English and Spanish
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred, additional Certified Surgical Tech (CST) a plus.
- Previous experience working in a plastic surgery setting is highly desirable but not required. Surgical experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is required
- Proficiency in performing basic clinical procedures
- Familiarity with medical administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
