Under the direction of the Ambulance Services Director, this person will be responsible for providing management, leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of the internal and external training programs for the Washington County Ambulance Service. This position will work in collaboration with other administration team members and First Responder groups.
Education and experience requirements: High school graduate or equivalent AND a minimum of 3 years' experience with a 911 service with a service average of 1,200 calls or more per year, successful completion of the prescribed curricula at an approved Paramedic training program as determined by the State of Iowa Bureau of Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (BETS), knowledge of EMS and the operations of an advanced ambulance service, as well as pre-hospital medical care standards and practices.
Other requirements: Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support provider within one year from date of hire, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor within one year from date of hire, and Certified Ambulance Coder within one year of hire.
Special requirements: Current Paramedic certification in the State of Iowa and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Completed mandatory reporter training in the past 3 years.
