Seeking an Intellectual Property Associate to join a well-established, full-service law firm with a nationally respected Intellectual Property practice and multiple office locations throughout Michigan and Florida. This is a great opportunity for an attorney early in their career who is passionate about intellectual property law and wants to gain hands-on experience in both patent prosecution and IP litigation.
Responsibilities:

Assist with patent prosecution before the USPTO.

Support intellectual property litigation in state and federal courts.

Draft and prosecute patent applications.

Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Assist with trademark and other intellectual property matters.

Collaborate with clients to develop and protect intellectual property portfolios.

Develop client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualifications:
-
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.

Registered to practice before the USPTO, or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration examination.

1-3 years of intellectual property experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.

Technical background required, with a preference for Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and responsiveness.

Outstanding client service skills and an interest in business development.
