Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions for patients to help them regain or develop the necessary skills for daily living and working. As a COTA, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rehabilitation techniques, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving patients' quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing treatment plans. A COTA's primary responsibility is to carry out therapeutic interventions designed and evaluated by the supervising OT.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic activities. This includes leading exercises and activities to improve patients' motor skills, strength, cognitive function, and daily living skills.
- Educating patients and families. COTAs teach patients and their families how to use adaptive equipment and techniques to increase their independence and carry over therapy goals at home.
- Documenting progress. COTAs are responsible for accurately recording a patient's progress, response to treatment, and any changes in their condition. They then report this information to the supervising OT.
- Contributing to the evaluation process. While they cannot independently interpret assessment data or create treatment plans, COTAs can assist the OT during evaluations by gathering information.
- Maintaining the treatment area. This includes preparing the treatment space, setting up therapy equipment, cleaning the area after sessions, and monitoring supply inventory.
- Performing administrative tasks. COTAs often handle clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, assisting with paperwork, and answering phones.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as an Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA
- Strong clinical knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
