Summary of Duties
This is a static (stationary) post for foot patrols of an apartment complex
Answer and respond to calls needing public safety or security. Writing complex incident reports. Maintaining a high level of independence, initiative and interaction with the public. Responsible for reprimanding and detaining members of the public. Provide assistance to law enforcement agencies when needed. Able to make sound decisions in stressful situations. Solid understanding on situational awareness and de-escalation. This position requires tact and the ability to size up your surroundings to make sound decisions. It also requires a fair level of empathy and customer service skills.

* Responding to calls for service and emergency assistance
* Rendering aid to the physically injured
* Investigating safety hazards and taking action to correct potential problem areas
* Providing motorized, foot and bicycle patrol to residential and business areas
* Practicing problem solving techniques in support of the agencies problem solving strategies
* Operating agency marked vehicles in routine and emergency situations
* Participating in job-related training and courses to maintain skills, knowledge and abilities
* Acting without direct supervision and exercising independent discretion in meeting emergencies
* Detaining suspects, removing trespassers from property, physically and forcibly as needed.
* Using firearms and other less lethal means of self-defense
* Customer service & Community engagement
* Being an “Ambassador” of the agency, to the community.

Minimum Requirements: North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (NCPPSB) registered as an Armed Guard, reliable transportation, ability to stand, walk, run, and go hands-on per agency SOP as needed. Ability to work required shifts including day and overnight. Ability to work a rotating schedule. Available during holidays and weekends. Black Protective Tactical carrier with plates and willingness to obtain identification patches (Front - Proteus / Back - Proteus Protective Services) before deployment, your own firearm (used to qualify for NCPPSB), 2 pairs of handcuffs, and minimally one less lethal. Navy Blue tactical pants, and black tactical boots. Smartphone with the ability to download appropriate work-related applications to be used in the field away from WIFI.
Highly sought after skills:
*First Responder certified (First Aid, CPR, AED trained)
*Ability to pass a background check
*Ability to pass a drug screen
*Preference given to EMT/P certified individuals
*Preference given to former Law Enforcement Officers
*Preference given to former Military
*Certifications in any or all of the following: Taser, OC Deployment, baton, handcuffing (must have current certification or be willing to get certified to carry)
