Lincoln Academy ~ High School Theater Costumer (Part-time, Flexible)Founded in 1801, Lincoln Academy is an independent Town Academy deeply rooted in the mid-coast communities of Central Lincoln County. For 225 years, Lincoln Academy has served as an educational center for students from more than 15 towns in the region. In addition to local students, the academy enrolls international and domestic boarding students. This results in an exciting mix of students, and the academy is committed to providing an outstanding education for each of them.
We are looking for a creative, organized, and energetic Costumer to join our high school theater program! If you love turning fabric into magic, working with enthusiastic teens, and bringing stories to life on stage, this is the perfect role for you. This part-time role offers a balance of flexible building hours with firm commitments during tech week and performances and a competitive per-show stipend. Employment is subject to a background check, and all employees must hold or obtain authorization from the Maine Department of Education (CHRC) to work in a Maine school. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the director and students to design and create costumes for all productions Design, sew, alter, and build costumes that fit our high school cast Work hands-on with kids (ages 1418) during fittings, rehearsals, and build sessions Help manage and organize our costume storage room keep inventory sorted and clean, while maintaining our significant collection Run dress rehearsals and all performance weekends (tech/dress weeks + Friday/Saturday shows) Ensure costumes are ready, safe, and stage-ready for every showParticipate in scheduled strike and reset following each show.We Are Looking for: Experience with sewing, costume construction, and design (professional or community theater experience is a plus) Comfortable working with high school students and a fun, positive attitude Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work flexible hours during production weeks (evenings and weekends) Reliable transportation and a love for theater!Lincoln Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
