Triboro Public Adjusting represents homeowners after fire losses — not insurance companies. When a family is displaced by a fire, we step in, build the claim correctly, and negotiate with the carrier for the full amount they are owed. Our advantage is carrier-insider scoping knowledge and in-house Xactimate estimating that most firms outsource. That makes our files stronger, faster to close, and larger at settlement.
We are hiring licensed field adjusters to identify fire losses across the NYC metro area, meet displaced homeowners, and sign them to representation. You bring the field work and the relationships. We handle the estimating, the desk work, and the carrier negotiation.

Paid on every carrier check, not just at final settlement. Your commission is paid on each partial payment rebuild, and holdback — as it is collected.
Higher take-home, leaner structure. Commission runs 25–35% of the collected fee, set by experience, with no excess overhead reducing your split.
Faster closes, faster pay. In-house estimating eliminates the outside-estimator backlog that slows other firms.
Licensing sponsorship available. Strong candidates who are not yet licensed can be sponsored by Triboro.
Fire-dense territory. The NYC metro produces losses daily; the volume is there for adjusters who can work it.
Direct access to the principal. You work directly with the licensed public adjuster running the firm.
What We Are Looking For
- Active public adjuster license (NY / NJ), or the drive to become licensed (sponsorship available)
- Comfortable meeting homeowners at a difficult moment, with professionalism and respect
- Self-motivated and able to work independently (1099 — you set your own schedule)
- Reliable transportation and a smartphone
- Honest, professional approach — your reputation is our reputation
This is a 1099 independent contractor role for closers who want uncapped earning potential and the freedom to run their own field operation, backed by a firm that settles claims.
