Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technician / Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in welding, comfortable working in both shop and field environments, and capable of handling precision work on thin gauge metals.
Responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of testing motors and starters for shorts, rewiring motors and voltages required.
- Understanding of electrical drawings, relays and circuit boards.
- Perform high-quality welding in the shop and on occasional field service calls.
- Operate welding equipment for Stick and MIG (GMAW) processes.
- Safely handle and operate gas torches for cutting, heating and brazing.
- Work extensively with thin gauge materials (12 ga and 10 ga,) requiring strict attention to detail to avoid burn-through.
- Assist with general shop fabrication, maintenance and equipment setup.
- Always maintain safety protocols by adhering to OSHA regulations, proper handling of power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery like forklifts.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality control through inspection of welds and fabricated parts.
Requirements
- Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of safety procedures and site-specific requirements.
- Skilled in SMAW and MIG (GMAW) welding techniques; familiar with AWS standards.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction environments and manufacturing facilities.
- Competence in using power tools including grinders, drills, saws; operating forklifts safely when required.
- Must bring your personal welding gear, including: Welding hood, steel-toe boots and welding jacket.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks with stamina and endurance
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Current and valid California Driver License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow verbal instructions clearly and independently.
