Job Summary:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality control and quality assurance functions, ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. This role includes managing documentation, inspecting ongoing work, and monitoring the performance of subcontractors to maintain the highest level of quality throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities for assigned projects
- Monitor and evaluate the quality employees’ and subcontractors’
- Verify and document that all work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
- Maintain accurate and detailed quality records, including daily reports, inspection logs, weld mapping and documentation
- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance and identify deficiencies or non-conforming work
- Communicate quality expectations and provide direction to field personnel and subcontractors
- Ensure timely resolution of quality issues and implementation of corrective actions
- Coordinate with NDE contractor to ensure NDE has been performed to meet project specification and applicable codes
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in an occupational function directly related to process plant construction and documentation to a recognized code or standard
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and inspection practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to comprehend written communications and effectively communicate verbally with team members
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform field inspections in active industrial environments
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to crawl through manways providing access to towers and vessels
- Capable of working in various conditions to inspect work in progress
Additional Expectations:
- Maintain daily job logs and inspection reports
- Provide clear direction to subordinates and field personnel
- Ensure all work meets established quality standards before acceptance
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
