Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, slicing, chopping, and portioning according to recipe specifications and safety standards.
- Assist in assembling dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring consistency and presentation quality.
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Support the kitchen team during meal service by maintaining station cleanliness and organization.
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs.
- Contribute to menu planning efforts by suggesting ingredient substitutions or new dish ideas based on current trends or seasonal availability.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety standards in production and handling equipment properly.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within restaurants or catering environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures.
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency during busy service times.
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and serve customers professionally.
