Cookies by Design / Fruit Bouquets is looking for a dependable, hardworking Fruit Production Team Member to join our Naperville production team.
This is a hands-on food production position where you will help prepare fresh fruit, dip fruit in chocolate, assemble fruit bouquets and platters, package completed orders, and keep our production kitchen clean, organized, stocked, and ready for daily operations.
Our production environment can move quickly, especially during mornings and holiday periods. We are looking for someone who can maintain quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and food-safety standards while working efficiently as part of a team.
The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, willing to learn, and able to take initiative without needing constant direction.
Kitchen, food preparation, bakery, catering, restaurant, or production experience is preferred but not required. We will train the right person.
Primary ResponsibilitiesFruit Production & Order Preparation
- Wash, cut, and prepare fresh fruit according to Fruit Bouquet specifications
- Prepare containers, ingredients, and supplies for daily production
- Dip and decorate fruit with chocolate
- Assemble fruit bouquets, platters, and related products according to specifications
- Bag, label, and prepare completed products for pickup and delivery
- Check completed products for accuracy, quality, and presentation
- Help organize and prioritize orders based on production needs, pickup times, and delivery schedules
- Restock ingredients, containers, packaging, and production supplies throughout the shift
- Work with other team members to ensure daily orders are completed accurately and on time
Food Safety, Cleaning & Sanitation
- Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, utensils, and production areas
- Follow established food-safety, handwashing, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing fresh fruit, chocolate, ingredients, and finished products
- Properly rotate ingredients and supplies using established procedures
- Help maintain clean coolers, work surfaces, floors, sinks, equipment, and storage areas
- Complete assigned opening, cleaning, and closing checklists
- Follow workplace safety procedures when using kitchen equipment, tools, and cleaning products
- Immediately communicate food-quality, sanitation, safety, or equipment concerns to management
Inventory & Kitchen Support
- Assist with inventory counts of fruit, ingredients, packaging, and production supplies
- Communicate when products or supplies are running low
- Receive, organize, and properly put away incoming supplies as needed
- Help maintain organized storage and production areas
- Use basic counting and math skills for inventory, production quantities, and portioning
- Help monitor product usage and minimize unnecessary waste
- Follow established recipes, production specifications, checklists, and procedures
- Assist in other areas of kitchen and production operations as needed

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Able to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive food-production tasks
- Comfortable working with fresh fruit, chocolate, kitchen equipment, coolers, and freezers
- Able to perform basic counting and math
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable transportation to our Naperville location
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Early-morning availability
- Must be available to work every other Saturday after training
Previous kitchen, food preparation, bakery, catering, restaurant, grocery, food production, or similar experience is a plus, but not required.
Schedule
Approximately 24–32 hours per week, generally 3–4 days per week.
Early-morning availability is required. Shift times and scheduled days may vary based on order volume and business needs.
Every-other-Saturday availability is required after training.
The store is closed on Sundays.
Holiday Availability
Our busiest production periods include:
- Valentine's Day
- Easter
- Mother's Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
During peak holiday periods, employees may be scheduled for earlier start times, longer shifts, additional days, and additional hours based on production volume.
Employees must be available to work the required production days leading up to major holidays, not just the holiday itself.
Holiday availability is an important requirement of this position.
