Job Summary:
Responsible for determining and implementing best manufacturing practices for current and future production related to set-up, start-up, processing, and maintenance of injection molding machines to satisfactorily accomplish quality and on-time delivered products to customers. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintenance of injection molding machines to satisfactorily accomplish quality and on-time delivered products to customers.

Set-up and start-up of injected molding machines.
-
Applies injection molding principles and molding theories to troubleshoot and process molding operations.
-
Performs mold and color changes on injection machines.
-
Works with Material Handlers and Machine Operators to make sure raw materials within the work cell are readily available.

Monitors machine operation for compliance to all ISO, health, safety, quality, and efficiency standards; analyze and lead continuous improvements.

Works with production management to review and organize production activities.

Collaborates with Tool Room, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment and quality problems within molding cell.

Evaluates scrap reduction techniques within work cell.

Monitors and documents daily process conditions; logging changes and drafting detailed mold repair work information form sheets

Ensures safety, cleanliness, and organization of work area.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical mindset, reasoning abilities and problem solving skills.

Basic understanding of molding and processing skills.

Ability to train new Mold Setters as needed.

Can successfully act as backup Mold Setter.

Good training and leadership skills; team oriented.
-
Successful completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Paulson Training.
-
Successful completion of “Technology of Injection Molding – Level 1 Module with Skill Builder Simulation” Paulson Training.
-
Successful completion of “Implementing Decoupled Molding” Paulson Training.
-
Successful completion of Forklift certification.
-
Successful completion of LOTO training.

Highly motivated.
-
Computer proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word.

Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions.

Ability to work overtime as required.

Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings
Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
-
1-2 years Injection Molding experience required (or prior external experience).
Physical Requirements:
-
Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.).
-
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
-
Requires manual dexterity.
-
Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment.
-
Frequently moves from waist level to floor level.
