We are seeking a Full-time diesel mechanic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Duties
· Diagnose Service, Maintain, repair company trucks and equipment by overhauling, assembling, or placing parts and systems such as drive trains, brakes, steering, electric, fuel systems, air conditioning, tire rotations, etc.
· Maintain accurate and complete service records in record books within same day of service
· Ensure records are reported to business office for PO log weekly as company policy
· Comply with company policy for service schedule and regulatory requirements
· Communicate with owner, supervisor dispatcher, and truck driver regarding truck and equipment service, maintenance, and repairs
· Gather pricing on business truck parts, vehicle equipment, and repairs and upon approval by owner executes the order on service
· Manage inventory by tracking supplies and placing orders
· Follow company and OSHA safety policies and procedures, including use of PPE (e.g. safety glasses, gloves and steel toe boots.
· Maintain shop tools and equipment
· Test drive vehicle to confirm repairs and performance.
Requirements
· CDL class A license with tanker endorsement, Preferred
· Proven experience as a diesel mechanic
· Strong customer service and communication
· Ability to read and interpret and perform service orders
· Problem- solving skills with attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Basic computer and mobile device proficiency
Education and experience
· High school diploma or GED
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience, repairing, maintaining and servicing heavy duty trucks and related equipment
· Clean driving record per DOT/ FMCSA requirements
Work environment and physical requirements
· Indoor and outdoor environment, exposed to contaminants, noise, vibration, and extreme temperatures
· Interaction with field service staff, administration and management daily.
· Use of protective gear as normally required for heavy truck mechanics
· Lift, carry, push and pull as normally required for heavy truck mechanics.
Work schedule
·Full-time typical schedule Monday / Friday 2nd shift or weekends.
