Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Clinical Director for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a focus on general patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience and demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities. As the Clinical Director-ICU General, you will oversee the clinical operations of the ICU, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and supervision for ICU nursing staff, including nurse management and shift oversight, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing physiology and anatomy knowledge to inform clinical decisions.
- Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Monitor patient progress through vigilant patient monitoring practices, utilizing EMR systems for accurate data entry and record keeping.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and staffing schedules to optimize efficiency while maintaining high standards of care.
- Facilitate case management processes, including discharge planning and coordination with assisted living, home health, hospice care, and other post-acute services.
- Ensure staff adherence to medical terminology standards, safety protocols, and documentation procedures in accordance with Medicare regulations.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, documentation accuracy, and compliance with healthcare laws such as HIPAA.
Experience
- Extensive critical care experience within ICU settings or acute care environments.
- Proven management experience with supervising nursing teams or healthcare professionals in fast-paced clinical settings.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care planning specific to ICU patients.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing shift operations and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Experience working within assisted living facilities, home health services, hospice care programs, or similar post-acute settings is preferred.
