Position Title: Greenkeeper
Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent / Golf Course Superintendent / Director of Agronomy
The Greenkeeper is responsible for maintaining the golf course to the highest standards expected by the membership of Chevy Chase Club. This position performs a variety of golf course maintenance tasks to ensure exceptional playing conditions while operating equipment safely, following all club policies, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Hourly Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Mow greens, tees, fairways, approaches, roughs, and practice facilities.

Change golf course cups and tee markers as directed.

Rake and maintain bunkers to club standards.

Trim around trees, bunkers, sprinkler heads, and landscape features.

Operate walk-behind and riding mowers, utility vehicles, string trimmers, blowers, and other maintenance equipment.

Assist with irrigation repairs and hand watering when required.

Apply fertilizer, topdressing, seed, and other turf products under supervision.

Assist with aeration, verticutting, overseeding, and other cultural practices.

Remove debris, leaves, and storm damage from the golf course.

Monitor course conditions and report turf, irrigation, drainage, or equipment issues to supervisors.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Perform other golf course maintenance duties as assigned.

Previous golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver's license preferred.

Early morning start times, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Overtime may be required during the growing season, tournaments, aeration, or special events.

Basic knowledge of turfgrass maintenance practices.
