Overview:
A leading aerospace manufacturer specializing in precision-engineered flight-critical components is seeking an Aerospace Quality Inspector . This role involves performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on complex engine components to verify compliance with blueprints, engineering standards, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct visual, dimensional, and final inspections of rotating components such as disks, shafts, seals, drums, and hubs.
Review engineering drawings, operation sheets, and specification documents to determine proper inspection procedures.
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators) to ensure dimensional accuracy within tolerance.
Approve conforming parts and recommend disposition for nonconforming items.
Maintain accurate documentation of all inspection activities, including receiving, in-process, and final reports.
Collaborate with operators to ensure correct setup of gauges and equipment.
Communicate effectively with production, quality, and management personnel to support timely completion of work.
Assist with prioritizing and expediting critical part shipments.
Uphold safety, organization, and housekeeping standards within the inspection area.
Participate in training programs and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
U.S. work authorization required (eligible to handle export-controlled data).
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years of experience as an aerospace component inspector or equivalent technical background.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, tolerances, and machining limitations.
Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Ability to read and interpret operation sheets, manuals, and inspection instructions.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% as needed.
