Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Thermoplastic Molding Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team in producing high-quality plastic components through advanced molding processes. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to thermoplastic molding operations, including plastics injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion processes.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of molding equipment such as press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools.
- Ensure production meets quality standards through rigorous inspection using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
- Manage materials handling and warehouse activities to guarantee timely supply of raw materials and efficient product flow.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and coordinate repairs using hand tools and other fabrication equipment.
- Lead safety initiatives by enforcing proper use of equipment like programmable logic controllers (PLCs), forklifts, and other machinery while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Train team members on the proper use of tools, quality inspection procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in plastics injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control.
- Hands-on experience operating press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, hand tools, and other machining equipment.
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures within warehouse environments.
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations related to manufacturing tolerances.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts safely in a warehouse setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
