Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and portioning fresh produce and proteins using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Assist in assembling dishes according to menu specifications, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
- Follow food safety standards rigorously during food handling, storage, and preparation to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Support the kitchen team in cooking various menu items, adhering to recipes and portion controls.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with safety standards in production.
- Assist with meal prep for catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring timely delivery of quality food.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and excellent food service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchen environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures.
- Skilled in knife techniques, slicing methods, and general culinary skills.
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation across diverse dietary needs.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of safety standards in production environments within the food industry.
- Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary requirements and meal accommodations.
