Bilingual Driver Operations & Dispatch Manager
Crystal Cubes Ice
Location: Mableton, Georgia
Full-Time | Management Position
Position Summary
Crystal Cubes Ice is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Bilingual Driver Operations & Dispatch Manager who is fluent in both English and Spanish.
We are looking for a strong leader with 8+ years of relevant transportation, delivery, dispatch, or DSD management experience who can take full responsibility for the daily performance of our drivers and helpers.
This is not a desk-only management position. The right candidate must be comfortable working directly with drivers, helpers, warehouse personnel, and management to make sure routes leave on time, employees report to work as scheduled, deliveries are properly dispatched, and daily operations run smoothly.
Our business is highly seasonal. During our busy season, this position may require working 6–7 days per week. During the slower season, the normal schedule will generally be 5 days per week. Candidates must understand the demands of a seasonal delivery operation and be willing to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the daily management of all route drivers and delivery helpers.
- Make sure drivers and helpers report to work on time and are ready for their scheduled routes.
- Contact employees when they are late, absent, or have not confirmed their work schedule.
- Coordinate replacements or make staffing adjustments when employees call out or fail to report.
- Manage the daily dispatching of delivery routes.
- Make sure routes are properly assigned and dispatched on time.
- Review daily route requirements, staffing levels, truck availability, and workload before dispatch.
- Coordinate driver/helper assignments based on route needs and employee experience.
- Work closely with warehouse and operations personnel to make sure trucks are prepared and routes can leave efficiently.
- Monitor drivers throughout the day and assist with route, customer, truck, or delivery problems.
- Make decisions and adjustments when routes fall behind schedule.
- Hold drivers and helpers accountable for attendance, punctuality, productivity, safety, customer service, and company procedures.
- Conduct employee coaching, counseling, and disciplinary conversations when necessary.
- Document attendance problems, performance issues, warnings, and other employee concerns.
- Help train and develop new drivers and helpers.
- Make sure employees understand and follow company DSD delivery procedures.
- Review driver performance and identify employees who require additional coaching or training.
- Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and evaluating drivers and helpers.
- Maintain clear communication between drivers, helpers, warehouse staff, office staff, and company management.
- Be prepared to step in and help solve operational problems rather than simply passing problems to someone else.
- Help management continuously improve driver productivity, route efficiency, safety, and customer service.
DSD Delivery Experience Required
The ideal candidate must understand Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, including:

Experience managing drivers servicing convenience stores, grocery stores, liquor/package stores, restaurants, retail locations, or similar DSD customers is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in transportation, DSD delivery, route operations, dispatch, driver management, or a related field.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish and able to communicate professionally with employees in both languages.
- Strong DSD delivery and route management experience.

- Experience driving commercial delivery trucks.
- Experience with 26-foot straight trucks.
- DOT and commercial vehicle safety knowledge.
- Experience hiring and training delivery drivers.
- Experience working in a seasonal distribution business.
- Experience managing early-morning delivery operations.
- Familiarity with route optimization and DSD software.
What We Are Looking For
We need someone who takes ownership of the driver department.
The successful candidate should not wait for management to tell them that a driver is late, a helper did not show up, or a route has not left the yard. This manager should already know what is happening and be working on the solution.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Dependable
- Organized
- Firm but fair
- Hands-on
- A strong communicator
- Comfortable managing different personalities
- Able to enforce company rules consistently
- Able to make quick operational decisions
- Willing to work alongside the team when necessary
- Focused on getting every route out safely and on time
- Able to earn the respect of experienced drivers while still holding them accountable
Schedule Expectations
This position requires flexibility because our delivery volume changes seasonally.
Busy Season:
Approximately 6–7 days per week, depending on business needs and delivery volume.
Slow Season:
Approximately 5 days per week.
Early mornings, weekends, and extended hours may be required. Candidates who are looking strictly for a Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM management position would not be a good fit for this role.
Our Expectation
The Driver Operations & Dispatch Manager will be expected to know who is working, who is absent, which driver is assigned to each route, which helper is assigned to each driver, whether routes are leaving on time, and what problems need attention each day.
The goal of this position is simple: the right people, on the right routes, in the right trucks, leaving on time, following company procedures, and completing their deliveries safely and professionally.
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- Dental insurance
- Vision insurance
