The Jefferson in Washington, D.C., is currently recruiting a Security Officer to join our highly acclaimed and award-winning team.

Responsibilities:

Knowledgeable of all security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations

Assist guests with room access, conducting/ assisting with emergency response drills, daily physical hazard/safety inspections, investigations, and key control audit

Monitor hotel surveillance cameras and alarm systems

Assist guests and employees during emergency situations
-
Respond to all accidents, contacting EMS or administering Aid/CPR as required
-
Gather information to complete reports while maintaining confidentiality
-
Defuse disturbances in accordance with hotel policies and procedures

Provide additional assistance in areas outside of traditional security positions to include Front Office Operations and Engineering
Qualifications:

Previous relevant Security experience, preferably in a luxury hotel

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Strong verbal and written communication skills with guests, visitors, and hotel staff

Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to obtain a certification in CPR and First Aid Training

The position requires the ability to walk stairs, climb ladders, and conduct security patrols. The ability to lift, bend, push and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs

Strong guest service experience is necessary
