Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Professional to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to prepare and review federal and state tax returns, ensure compliance with current tax laws, and provide tax planning and advisory services to a diverse client base including individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits. This position requires experience in public accounting and tax preparation, strong technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.

Perform detailed tax return review and quality control to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with firm standards.

Conduct tax research on technical issues and apply findings to client situations and tax positions.

Provide tax planning and advisory services to minimize client tax liabilities and support business decisions.

Collaborate with engagement teams, including audit and advisory, to coordinate client deliverables and ensure integrated client service.

Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines, including planning workflow, prioritizing tasks, and communicating status to managers and clients.

Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy of tax workflows.

Prepare workpapers, supporting schedules, and documentation to substantiate tax positions and filings.

Mentor and train junior staff on tax preparation, review procedures, and firm policies.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax law changes and regulatory guidance, and communicate relevant updates to clients and team members.
Qualifications

Required: Experience in public accounting with demonstrated tax preparation experience.

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, EA, or progress toward credential preferred.

Proven experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and business entities (S-Corp, C-Corp, partnerships) and familiarity with non-profit tax filings.

Strong technical knowledge of tax code, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Experience with tax research tools and common tax software platforms; proficiency with Excel and other productivity tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical clients.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have: direct experience with S-Corp and C-Corp tax planning, corporation-level tax issues, partnership allocations, non-profit tax compliance, and formal tax return review procedures.
