We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Specialist to join our team. This vital role combines comprehensive human resources management with payroll administration, ensuring smooth HR operations and accurate compensation processing. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive workplace environment, managing employee relations, and maintaining compliance with employment laws. Your proactive approach will support strategic HR initiatives, enhance workforce management, and streamline payroll functions to drive organizational success.
Responsibilities
- Manage employee onboarding and orientation processes.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements while keeping confidentiality.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including candidate screening and reference checks.
- Administer employee benefit programs, open enrollment, and help employees with benefit-related questions.
- Coordinate employee training, and professional development initiatives.
- Assist management with employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Manage workplace safety programs, workers' compensation administration, and FMLA.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics and documentation as needed.
- Assist in updating employee handbooks, policies and procedures.
- Process weekly, and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Review and verify employee time records, attendance, vacation/PTO, and payroll changes.
- Calculate wages, overtime and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Coordinate payroll-related activities with accounting.
- Prepare payroll reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Human Resources and payroll experience required.
- Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, payroll regulations and HR best practices.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing and HR administration.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively but also the ability to multitask.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
